How to Choose Food Packaging for Oily, Saucy and Moist Foods
A buyer-focused checklist for food applications where oil, sauce and moisture create packaging risk.
Start with the food, not the material
Oily, saucy and moist foods place different stress on packaging. Buyers should define contact time, temperature, transport conditions, whether the food will be sealed and whether it will be chilled or reheated.
Match the barrier to the risk
Molded fiber, coated paperboard, CPET, PET/rPET and PP options all serve different applications. Barrier fiber is often considered when a buyer wants fiber-based presentation with stronger oil and moisture resistance.
Use real food trials
For demanding applications, a custom trial with the buyer's real food conditions is more useful than a generic sample. It helps validate barrier performance, sealing and handling before larger orders.
